MAC and Three Rivers Beef Up Green Fleets With More All-Electric Vehicles Two Twin Cities based government organizations, the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) and the Three Rivers Park District made additions to their green fleets by purchasing zero emission, all-electric vehicles from Cushman Motor Company of Minneapolis this past month.
MAC purchased a Vantage EVX-1000 electric truck (above, left) for use as a general purpose maintenance vehicle at the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport. Three Rivers purchased a Columbia Summit (above, right) as an emergency assistance vehicle. The Summit will cruise the winding bike paths of 2,700 acre Baker Park Reserve in order to locate and transport injured bicyclists and their bicycles back to the park's headquarters.

Eaton and Takaoka Electric to Build and Distribute Electric Car Chargers in U.S. The Auto Channel web site reports that "DC Quick Chargers", a simple to use charger that rapidly recharges electric vehicle batteries will be jointly built and distributed in the U.S. by Eaton (a large industrial manufacturer with a major presence in Eden Prairie, MN) and Takaoka Electric of Japan.
